Following a very well attended event last year and continuing positive feedback that attendees really value a conference co-located with a significant commercial exhibition, we are pleased to announce the 2016 event.
This one-day meeting will bring together scientists and technologists with expertise in the design, development, characterisation and production of functional thin film materials and integrated devices for a broad spectrum of scientific and industrial applications. The aim being to share knowledge, ideas and experiences.
The meeting comprises a programme of invited speakers, oral presentations and a poster session (which will be combined with other meetings for added interest). The programme will allow time for delegates to network with others and to visit the exhibition.
Prof Clare Carmalt, Materials and Inorganic Chemistry, Dept. of Chemistry, UCL. “Sustainable manufacturing of functional materials”
Dr Erik Wagenaars, Dept. of Physics, University of York. “Modifying surfaces with cold atmospheric-pressure plasmas”
Michael Powell, UCL. “Enhancing thermochromic thin film materials through the application of multi-layered structures”
Dr Charles Bishop, C.A. Bishop Consultants Ltd. “Roll to roll vacuum coating onto fibres, fabrics, non-wovens or foams for medical or smart clothing”
Prof Marin Alexe, University of Warwick. “Memristor functionalities of multiferroic tunnel junctions”
Call for Posters
The oral programme will be developed by invitation however we are keen to involve, especially, early career scientists who are researching novel and exciting new techniques or unique applications.
Posters are solicited based on such contributions which will be on the theme of the meeting AND for other vacuum technology or technology in-a-vacuum subjects.
We particularly invite contributions from potential speakers and for poster presentations in the following thin film and application areas: Smart Materials – Optical Coatings – Display Technologies – Active Devices in the Fields of Opto-Electronics – Photovoltaics – Flexible Electronics – Photocatalytic Coatings – Sensors – Characterisation – Analysis – Optimisation – Coating Techniques, etc.
Please log in to the website, register to attend and advise us of your intention to offer an abstract as early as possible. Deadline for submission of poster presentation title and abstract is 12th September 2016.
