TPW 2015:Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th
A forum for science and technology of plasmas and gas discharges. This event is all about the revitalisation of older techniques, the technical plasmas of “today”, plasma enabled applications, how problems are being overcome and where technical plasmas are going in the future – MORE
RGA12: Advances in Mass Spectrometry for RGAWednesday 14th
RGAs, based on a quadrupole mass spectrometer, are the classic measuring instrument for evaluation for leaks and residual gas composition in a vacuum system. RGAs are extensively used as instruments to provide quantitative analysis in systems and to control processes like physical and chemical vapour deposition, etch, etc. In this meeting recent innovations in RGA technology and instruments are examined – MORE
Emerging Technologies in Vacuum ScienceWednesday 14th
A vacuum environment is essential for many industrial processes and scientific analysis systems which traditionally require vacuum for their operation. This meeting aims to highlight some of the more recent developments in surface coating, surface analysis techniques, molecular deposition systems, superconductors, photocatalytic surfaces and phase changes in thin films – MORE
Thursday 15th
This one-day meeting brings together scientists and technologists with expertise in the production and characterisation of functional thin film materials and integrated devices for a broad spectrum of scientific and industrial applications, with the aim of sharing knowledge, ideas and experience – MORE
Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th
This is an opportunity to attend a Vacuum Training Course at very low cost. VTC1 & VTC2 are aimed at newcomers to the field, or anyone wishing to brush-up on their knowledge, whereas VTC3 will address ultra high vacuum in more detail. New in 2015 is VTC4: An Introduction to Leak Detection. Places on each course are very limited, so you are encouraged to register early.
The material is presented in an informal/tutorial style with an effort to address participants’ needs. A copy of the Training Slides on a CD + a Certificate of Attendance will be provided. The Course Fee is £25 (per course) which will be collected by credit card when you book the course – MORE
Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th
Poster sessions will take place on both days of VS6. Everyone attending this year’s event is invited to present a poster which may be on work related to any of this year’s meeting topics or any aspect of vacuum in general.
This year the Vacuum Symposium Poster Prizes (£100 and certificate on both days) will be sponsored by Hiden Analytical (Day 1) and Oerlikon Leybold (Day 2).
Posters will be judged on the basis of scientific content, effectiveness of communication and overall appearance – MORE
