The UK’s Vacuum Technology Event for 2019 – this year’s Vacuum Symposium is a high-quality, two-day meeting covering applications, advances, innovation and emerging technologies. It is a key event for the UK’s vacuum community.

60 years of BVC:Thursday 10th
The BVC 2019 meeting at VS10 will celebrate 60 years of BVC and the award of the 2019 IUVSTA Prize for Science to Prof. Phil Woodruff of Warwick University. To complement the keynote presentation, there will be talks from five internationally-leading surface scientists presenting their work covering structure, electronic structure, reactivity, and the physics of dynamic processes at surfaces and interfaces.
Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th
This is an opportunity to attend a Vacuum Training Course at very low cost. VTC1 & VTC2 are aimed at newcomers to the field, or anyone wishing to brush-up on their knowledge, whereas VTC3 will address ultra high vacuum in more detail.

Poster sessions will take place on both days of VS10. Everyone attending this year’s event is invited to present a poster which may be on work related to any of this year’s meeting topics or any aspect of vacuum in general.
This year the Vacuum Symposium Poster Prizes (£100 and certificate on both days) will be sponsored by the VS Platinum Sponsors.
