About the meeting
The theme of the meeting is to highlight areas where vacuum and the use of plasmas and ion beams are important (and often essential) ingredients in industrial coating processes. Invited papers are being given illustrating the use of these techniques in different commercial fields. The meeting will bring together scientists and technologists with expertise in applying a plasma in vacuum to a wide spectrum of application areas with the aim of sharing knowledge, ideas and experiences.
This one-day session includes invited speakers and contributed papers in tutorial-level talks with up-dates on the latest coating methods and talks on new applications.
Quality Meeting • Quality Event
The Vacuum Symposium meetings are held alongside Vacuum Expo
exhibition. The meeting programme allows all delegates sufficient time
to visit the exhibitions.
Technical Programme Committee
Comments following last year’s conference:
Niall Macgearailt from Intel, Ireland, commented on last year’s ‘Vacuum and Plasmas for Industry’ meeting:“The combination of the Vacuum Expo and technical sessions provide an excellent networking opportunity. The large number of UK and European based suppliers offering innovative products and solutions is extremely encouraging.”
Meeting organiser, Alan Webb of the Ion and Plasma Interactions (IPSI) Group of the IOP, commented on the quality of the meeting: “It is rare to have speakers from so many different industry sectors all speaking in the same programme. It is significant that in the world of vacuum that one industry can learn from the experience of another. We are grateful to all speakers and their companies and organisations for their contributions which made the day so very successful”.
